English Unit 1
In this unit, students read and respond to texts analytically and creatively. They analyse texts for their ideas, concerns, and tensions while also making personal connections to the text. They then engage with shorter mentor texts which act as models of effective writing to inform their own writing.

English Unit 2
In this unit students analyse the presentation of ideas, issues and themes in texts along with the way that text structures and language features work together to create meaning. They analyse arguments presented and the use of persuasive language in texts and create their own oral presentation intended to position audiences. Students develop their skills in creating written and spoken texts.

English Unit 3
In this unit students analyse the ideas, concerns and values presented in a text. They also demonstrate effective writing skills by producing their own texts.

English Unit 4
In this unit students analyse explicit and implicit ideas, concerns and values presented in a text. They also analyse the use of argument and language in written texts and develop and present a point of view text.
